Second Round, 63rd Pick: Dak Prescott

The other scenario played out in this mock draft is if the Broncos do not Paxton Lynch or Colin Kaepernick. Dak Prescott has been on the Broncos radar from the time this process began. Prescott provides an interesting skillset like Kaepernick and Lynch, but with more physical traits to withstand pressure.

Prescott has body size of Tim Tebow, but he is far and away the better talent. Tebow could never be polished as a passer to make it work. Prescott has the body size now and polished passer awareness to make it to the next with the right coach to work with him. Gary Kubiak can work with Prescott to hone in his accuracy a little more and his process on progressions and not be predetermined on reads.

The arm strength for Prescott is there and has fortitude to throw strikes at the next level. Prescott’s willingness to learn and get better every year will suit him well in the NFL. It will be interesting to see if the Broncos draft Prescott how well they would mold the offense to his talent.

Prescott may be available in the third round, but with quarterbacks now at possibly four in the first round, the hope is the Broncos can land one of the them in the first or second if they do not land Kaepernick.
