Denver Broncos mock draft update 3.0: Kaepernick trade?
7. (219th overall): Jacoby Brissett, QB, N.C. State
I don’t really know if or when the Broncos would draft a quarterback should they acquire Colin Kaepernick, but this seems to be about the right spot. There are rumors that they would simply wait for the undrafted free agent pool, and that’s probably okay also.
I just figured, you know what? I like Jacoby Brissett at this spot. He’s got ideal measurables for an NFL quarterback and a strong arm. The issue with him? Consistency. One of a couple of quarterbacks in this draft class to start their college career at Florida and wind up transferring, Brissett has the ideal skillset for the offense the Broncos run, and they might just be able to sneak him on the practice squad while keeping Kaepernick, Mark Sanchez, and Trevor Siemian on the active 53-man roster.
