5. (144th overall): T.J. Green, S, Clemson

Green’s name is fitting for where he’s currently at as a prospect. He’s very raw, and some believe he should have returned to school for another year. Playing on one of the most talented defensive units in college football, Green combines excellent speed with size and has great potential.

He may fall to this pick for the Broncos, who have had him in for a pre-draft visit.

The reason I think the Broncos could take two safeties within their first five picks is first of all because I think they need the depth behind Stewart and Ward, who were phenomenal last year. Second, I think the Broncos’ loss of some key special teams players this year is more of a pressing need than people think.

What better way to add to your special teams than to bring in big, athletic safeties with upside?
