4. (136th overall): Wendell Smallwood, RB, West Virginia

Smallwood has good size, quickness, and breakaway speed. I think the Broncos would still be interested in drafting a back as early as this because of the way they are going to rotate players at the position and I think Smallwood can fit the zone scheme really well.

The Big 12’s leading rusher would have time to develop in Denver and play behind last year’s leading rushers in C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman. With 4.47 speed, he’s a deep threat and has the body type (5-11 208) to take punishment between the tackles. This is a good player lost in the shuffle of a deep RB class.
