3. (98th overall): Carl Nassib, DE, Penn State

The former walk-on at Penn State has developed into a heck of a player, leading the nation with 15.5 sacks this past season and racking up tackles for loss like it was already his job.

Nassib’s development and overall work ethic would be attractive at this juncture of the draft, but he also has the ability to come in and play a role as a rookie. The Broncos lost Malik Jackson to free agency, and ‘replaced’ him with Jared Crick, but I think Nassib could certainly be a long-term solution. He doesn’t have ‘ideal’ size for a 3-4 DE at 6-5, 277 pounds, but Malik Jackson came into the league only a few pounds heavier, so I’d be interested to see what kind of weight he can pack on.
