Denver Broncos mock draft update 3.0: Kaepernick trade?
2. (63rd overall): Deion Jones, LB, LSU
Deion Jones is one of the fastest linebackers in the draft (4.38 at his LSU pro day) and he led the LSU defense with 100 tackles. He also added 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and three pass breakups.
Playing behind some talented linebackers his first few years at LSU he finally got a chance to shine this past year and he did. Why does he make sense for the Broncos? Well, Danny Trevathan departed in free agency, not unexpectedly, and a player like Jones could be a really exciting potential starter this year along with Brandon Marshall.
If not, the Broncos have Todd Davis, Corey Nelson, and Zaire Anderson to compete for a starting spot as well.
