7. (157th overall) Kevin Byard, S, Middle Tennessee

I’m all aboard the ‘draft multiple new safeties’ train and Byard is honestly one of my favorites in this entire draft. He wasn’t invited to the Scouting Combine for really no reason at all, and at 5-11 212 pounds he ran a 4.46 at his pro day.

He racked up 19 interceptions over the course of his college career, and it wasn’t a case of a bunch of lucky tipped balls or anything — Byard has some of the most legit ball skills in the draft and some team is going to get a steal whenever he is drafted. I just hope it’s the Broncos, and if they can get him at some point on day three of the draft — even better.
