Denver Broncos mock draft 2.0: Taking a QB early?
5. (136th overall) B.J. Goodson, LB, Clemson
With Jaylon Smith (in this situation) likely going to injured reserve, the Brandon Marshall contract situation unresolved, I think there’s room for some more competition at linebacker. The Broncos obviously have Todd Davis and Corey Nelson along with Zaire Anderson, but Goodson is a really interesting prospect who could be a great value on day three.
Physically, when I watch Goodson I’m reminded a bit of the nasty style of play that Navorro Bowman plays with, but perhaps not quite on that level yet. He played in an incredibly talented defense at Clemson, and has gone underrated because of that. He is an excellent athlete with good size who could contribute from day one.
