The Denver Broncos officially announced their 2016 pre-season schedule, which will begin with a trip to Chicago to take on the Bears…

The Denver Broncos are getting set to release their schedule on Thursday evening, but before the 16-game slate is revealed, they set the official dates for their pre-season games.

Per a team release, here’s what the official preseason schedule looks like.

A few things stand out to me here.

1. The Broncos are opening on the road, which seems weird for the Super Bowl champions, even in the preseason. It doesn’t necessarily bother me I would just think the Champs would be welcomed back into football season by their own fans, not those in Chicago.

Come to think of it, there are going to be plenty of Broncos fans in Chicago, since all of their players are coming off of rookie contracts in Denver.

Slam.

2. The Broncos basically play the 49ers every single pre-season, and it’s going to be interesting to see how awkward that game is for Colin Kaepernick.

Whether or not he’s playing for the Broncos, it’ll be awkward, so I hope he’s wearing orange instead of red.

3. Seeing ‘Los Angeles’ on a schedule is still bizarre to me. They also just traded for the #1 overall pick in the draft, so the fans of Denver will get an up-close and personal look at the top pick in the game where he’ll probably play the most snaps. The third preseason game is usually where coaches get their top guys the longest look as a final tune-up for the regular season.

I love the pre-season, and that game will be of particular intrigue.

Stay tuned for all the latest, breaking news stories about the Denver Broncos schedule.
