2. Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia

The Broncos need safety help, and Joseph is one of the best in this class. He’s rated by many as a mid-late 2nd round pick, and out of necessity, he could be picked much earlier than the Broncos’ 63rd overall slot.

However, if he falls, this would be a steal and the Broncos could cash in on his fall because of the fact that he was injured at the end of last season.

Why would the Broncos take a safety so early with Darian Stewart and T.J. Ward returning? Well, you have to keep in mind that Stewart will be a free agent in 2017, and the Broncos literally have no safeties behind those two guys right now. Their depth at safety has been depleted, and the third safety in this defense will play extensive snaps.

Joseph played just four games this past season, but picked off five passes. That’s astonishing. The year before that, he had 90 tackles and three forced fumbles. He’s a complete player at the safety position, one who would fit in very well with the Denver Broncos and the ‘No Fly Zone’.
