According to Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos visited with Western Kentucky WR/TE Tyler Higbee in preparation for the 2016 NFL Draft…

The Denver Broncos continue to make the rounds in the pre-draft process, and Western Kentucky TE Tyler Higbee appears to have their attention. According to a report from Mike Klis, Higbee visited with the Broncos last week…

Here are some highlights of Higbee’s senior season at Western Kentucky.

Coming into college as a 215 pound wide receiver, Higbee is an athletic TE who has put on nearly 40 pounds. He missed some time this past season with a knee injury, playing in just nine games but he caught eight touchdown passes and is considered one of the draft’s best prospects at the tight end position.

Higbee was healthy enough to put on a show at his pro day in front of NFL scouts and decision makers, but he didn’t run the 40-yard dash or participate in agility drills. That will possibly come at a later time, but teams see exactly what he is on tape. He’s a big wideout who is raw in his TE skills but can do some of the same things that guys like Jace Amaro or Jordan Cameron could do coming out of school. Some have compared him to Travis Kelce as well.

At any rate, Higbee will be one of the top TE’s selected in this year’s draft, and we all know how much Gary Kubiak likes the tight end position, so perhaps this is something worth keeping a close eye on. As we draw nearer to the draft, we’ll take an even closer look at Higbee and his potential impact on the Broncos should he wind up in the Mile High City.
