Seventh Round, 228th Pick: Antonio Morrison

Antonio Morrison is an NFL starter on talent alone. Morrison is the spitting image of frame as Danny Trevathan, who the Broncos lost to the Chicago Bears. The Broncos must address the needs of linebacker despite the impressive depth at the position. Morrison would challenge Corey Nelson, Todd Davis and Zaire Anderson for the starting role.

Morrison is a violent tackler with quick reads as a linebacker. That alone is the definition of a Denver Broncos linebacker. Morrison has above average or game speed and the talent to hit the hole to stuff the run with force. He was a two-year signal caller, which might give him the edge over Zaire Anderson or Todd Davis.

At times, Morrison does get hung up on blocks and cannot free himself, but his bad angles to the runner and overaggressive nature can be coached by Wade Phillips. Much like Trevathan, coming out of college Morrison lacked the elite level quickness, but his tremendous instincts and game speed might make him go higher than the seventh round. Once Morrison wraps up the ball carrier, the runner will has nowhere to go. However, due to multiple injuries in 2013 and 2015, Morrison could bring a chip on the shoulder mentality the Broncos have played with since John Elway took over.
