7th Round, 242nd Overall: QB Vernon Adams Jr., Oregon

Explanation: Why stop at one QB, when you can add a second passer with upside too?  I don’t know if the Broncos consider this to be a strong possibility, but in the event that they don’t add another veteran passer between now and the draft, I don’t see any issue with adding a 2nd passer to the rookie class.

The Russell Wilson comparisons are obvious when it comes to Adams Jr. There’s so many comparisons I’m

not even going to bother to list. Like Wilson, though, I feel like Adams Jr. is a legitimate NFL QB and I hope he gets a chance to compete at the Pro level.  In a league that is looking for QB’s that can put a team on their back and take them to the mountain top, Adams Jr. has proven to not only be successful, but carry a team to victory at every level he’s played at.

Long story short, Adams Jr. is a gamer. Plain and simple. He’s delivered at every level and like Wilson, I think he can succeed in the NFL (if given a legitimate shot).

I see this as a low risk, high reward pick. If he doesn’t pan out, they could put him on the Practice Squad or out right cut him at the conclusion of camp. If he exceeds expectations, well, let’s see what happens.  At the very least, the Broncos need a 4th arm going into Training Camp with Sanchez, Siemian and Prescott (again, assuming that they don’t add another veteran).  Why not grab a guy with a chip on his shoulder and a great deal of upside to compete?
