Broncos 2016: Von Miller’s Dancing with the Stars Recap
By Tylor Walden
Denver Broncos edge rusher Von Miller began his journey towards another title on Monday Night as he competes for the Ballroom Trophy on this season’s Dancing with the Stars. I recap the first night.
On your mark, get set, dance. The 22nd season of Dancing with the Stars premiered on Monday Night. Broncos fans were glued to the television as outside linebacker Von Miller competes against other athletes as well as actors/actresses.
Fans of the Denver Broncos linebacker had to wait some time before he finally performed. He and his dance partner Witney Carson performed the Foxtrot. They have decided on the name BlondeMiller for their team name.
For those who missed the performance, you can watch it below.
Warning: The following contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.
Von Miller begins at a set up press conference. He is asked the question on what he is going to do since he is Super Bowl MVP. He then states he will “dance with the stars.” He was joined by friends and teammates on the stage T.J. Ward, Duke Ihenacho, and Omar Bolden.
After jumping off the table, Von Miller begins the Foxtrot with dance partner Carson. They performed it under the song “My House” from rapper Flo Rida. From what I saw, it was really impressive. Both Miller and Carson looked like they were having a lot of fun on stage.
What I really liked about the performance was how Miller and Carson added a few touchdown dances in there. It impressed Broncos fans and others. But how would the judges score it?

Carrie Ann Inaba gave the couple the highest score of the three with an eight. Bruno Tonioli gave them a seven. Len Goodman gave the lowest score at six. That added up to 21 points out of a possible 30. The group finished in a tie for 4th Place on the first night. Only two points behind a three way tie between meteorologist Ginger Zee, Boyz II Men member Wanya Morris, and model Nyle DiMarco.
Not too bad of a night for Miller and Carson. We shall see what they have in store next Monday.
