Under The Radar RB Prospects For Broncos
Alex Collins
From the University of Arkansas, Alex Collins is a big presence from the position and his build and style of running could continue to push CJ Anderson. Broncos have always shown to add competition at the position. However, they might be weary of spending a high pick on a running back. The last such pick on a back was on Montee Ball in the second round.
Collins has a physical presence in pass protection and reliable out of the backfield which could see him as a third down back or on passing downs. He can reset his vision and cut through to the teeth of the defense. Once Collins is at the second level of the defense, he reaches top speed, which can result in taking it the distance. A player as physical as Collins to hit the next level is bad news for the secondary to take punishment from a running back like Collins.
Accepting any type of coaching will benefit Collins to learn any offense. Anderson will likely be the bell cow for the Broncos, but a physical combination with Collins could wear down a defense.
Expect Collins to go in the late second and third rounds.
