There are two running backs on the roster who could challenge one another to be the backup to CJ Anderson. Kapri Bibbs and Juwan Thompson both could vie for a spot behind Anderson. Ronnie Hillman testing free agency opens the door for both backs to have an impact on the team.

Thompson may have the nod over Bibbs at this point given his more well rounded pass blocking. Ronnie Hillman was given the more reps out of the corps of backs due to his success in pass blocking. Thompson’s edge over Bibbs for reps could be his versatility to be a fullback for the Broncos.

Bibbs, on the other hand, give the Broncos the chance at a more versatile back like Anderson. Bibbs and Anderson are similar in style but more snaps have given Anderson the starting role. The most raw in the stable of running backs on the roster is Bibbs. Versatility as a pass receiver out of the backfield and success in the zone-scheme running style gives Bibbs an opportunity to be more successful than Thompson.

Look for both running backs to push each other for the backup, but Thompson will more than likely be given the role between the two of them.
