Broncos recently signed CJ Anderson back to the team shocking most, if not all fans after matching the 4-year $18 million offer given by the Miami Dolphins. That will not preclude them however, from adding running back depth in the draft. Two running backs are currently on the roster if they were to go that route and challenge Anderson for that starting spot.

The 2016 NFL Draft class is filled with intriguing talent that could fill the role voided by Ronnie Hillman. Hillman has entered the second wave of free agency unsigned and will likely not return to the Broncos. The moves made the Broncos or lack of signings could hint the team will add a running back in the first three to five rounds in this year’s draft.

Running backs in this year’s draft are deep, which could force the Broncos to not rush in the earlier rounds and land the backup they need in rounds three to five. It is unclear if the team has someone in their sights, but the running backs to choose from are plenty. Whoever the Broncos draft they will be set at the position.

The potential candidates at the running back position for the Broncos are as follows.
