The Denver Broncos will look to add depth to the quarterback position in this year’s NFL Draft, even if Brock Osweiler re-signs with the team. Coveted quarterbacks, Carson Wentz and Jared Goff will be long gone before the Broncos’ 31st overall pick. Given Vice President of Football Operation, John Elway’s penchant for drafting quarterbacks, in addition to the present need, are strong indicators he will look to fulfill needs at this critical position.

It is unclear who the chosen group of quarterbacks the Broncos will go after; however, the team will be intentional in who they choose to head their offense. A run first and play action offense will benefit from working with a quarterback-friendly head coach in Gary Kubiak.

Even though re-signing Brock Osweiler is a top priority, it is important to keep the options open and continue feeding the quarterback pipeline. The Broncos are trying to keep Osweiler in the fold, but it is unclear if they can close. According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, the Broncos offered Osweiler 3-years for $45 million. Osweiler has not stated his stance on the current deal.

Either as a future starter or as a backup, my list of potential candidates is as follows.
