Bronco Player to Re-Sign:

I will take an in-house UFA that a lot of people might not be talking about — Omar Bolden. I really like Bolden both as a defender and special teams player, but mostly as a special teamer.

With David Bruton likely to seek a starting position elsewhere, I think Bolden is ready to step into his role as a key reserve defensively but more importantly — the best non-kicking special teams player on the team. I would love to see the team re-sign him.

Eric Weddle

Free Agent to Sign:

As for an out-of-house free agent I would love to see brought in — Eric Weddle. Weddle is not a critical player of need by any means, but he would be the best safety on the team, and I think the Broncos could split snaps in a really creative way to get Weddle, Stewart, and Ward out onto the field at the same time.

Weddle is playing for titles, but after the way he was treated at the end of his career in San Diego, he would likely relish the opportunity to beat them twice a year. He would be a great fit in Wade Phillips’ defense, and would give the Broncos an elite cover man on the back end. Another weapon for their already stellar defense.
