3. Jerald Hawkins, OL, LSU

Reaction: Hawkins would be a perfect fit for the Broncos as a developmental left tackle prospect. He has great feet and athleticism, but needs to develop NFL strength in order to be an asset in the running game as well as in pass protection. Despite leaving school early, he has nearly 40 starts under his belt, and certainly we have seen some good offensive linemen coming out of this LSU program in recent years.

The evaluation process on Hawkins for me is still in its infancy stage, but there’s plenty to like here from a 6-6, 305 pound kid who can move well and has good feet.

4. Leonte Carroo, WR, Rutgers

Reaction: Carroo is considered a possible 3rd or 4th round prospect despite an off-field issue prior to the 2015 season where his future with Rutgers was in clear jeopardy. Here in the 5th round (pick acquired from Baltimore in Gino Gradkowski trade) the Broncos are getting a steal.

Carroo has an NFL-ready skill set and while his body type is underwhelming (reminds me of a young Anquan Boldin) he has the ability to come in and contribute right away with his physicality, toughness, and strong hands. Despite the off-field issues, this is the point in the draft at which you might be willing to take a gamble on a guy, and Carroo is certainly worthwhile talent-wise.
