Broncos 2016: Recapping the 5 Last Minute Predictions
By Tylor Walden

Broncos Defense will record 30+ sacks during the regular season
Well, the Broncos defense beat this prediction by a landslide. They were a true force throughout the entire season. After they were all tallied up, the Broncos recorded 52 sacks on the year, best in the league.
This effort was led by Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, who recorded 11 sacks during the 2015 campaign. Demarcus Ware had 7.5 sacks during an injury filled season, and defense end Derek Wolfe recorded 5.5 sacks, good for a contract extension.
The future of the linebacker position Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett recorded a total of 9.5 sacks combine. So, in total, the outside linebackers themselves recorded 28 of the 52 sacks. That is phenomenal.
John Elway built this team to win games with the defense, and boy did they do exactly that. From that ugly Super Bowl 48 loss (glad we don’t have to remember that anymore) Elway made sure that we built the team defense.
Then again, as it has been said time in and time out, Defense Wins Championships. And the Broncos defense proved that throughout the course of this season.
Give credit to Wade Phillips for transforming this team to a power house and new version of the Orange Crush Defense that certainly rocks a quarterback’s world.
