Vernon Davis

Known for dropping passes over the last couple of years, Davis didn’t exactly bring the 2013 version of himself to Denver but there were moments where he made some huge plays that the Broncos desperately needed.

A trade deadline acquisition by John Elway for virtually nothing, Davis is a free agent after this year and a player that would be somewhat interesting to see brought back on a cheap contract. He is already splitting snaps with Owen Daniels and Virgil Green, and next year, the Broncos will hopefully add Jeff Heuerman into the mix off of injured reserve.

The tight end position is so important in this offense, however, that I wouldn’t put it past the Broncos to bring Davis back. He was a rental for this season, but with time to absorb the offense, he could be an asset…

…if only he’d just hold on to the football.
