Week 8: vs. Green Bay Packers
Coming back from the bye week, the Broncos took on the Packers in a battle of unbeaten teams. Both were 6-0 going into this game. It would be the first big test for the Broncos this season. And did they come through in a big way.
Like I did for the Fanzone piece for this game, I have brought back Sarah Garner to recap the Broncos vs. Packers game. For those who missed the interview, Sarah is a huge Broncos fan and avid fantasy football player, winning championship’s left and right.
“My favorite moment is kind of cheating. It is not so much as a moment, but a result of this game. I honestly believe that this game against the Packers was the most complete and balanced game on both offense and defense the Broncos have played since Manning joined the team, which has made me happier beyond belief.”
“Add on to the fact that Aaron Rodgers was held to 77 TOTAL YARDS in the game thanks to our defense. The Hall of Fame bound, Hail Mary King, Super Bowl winning quarterback was held to that. Are you kidding me?”
“Another moment was when Pat Bowlen was enshrined into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame. I honestly could not think of a more perfect game on every level for the Broncos.”
MVP of Packers Game:
“Again, I will be cheating because my MVP was not a player. It is going to defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. Basically, he’s essentially taken the same defensive personnel the Broncos have had over the past few seasons and turned them into the No. 1 ranked defense.”
“Can you imagine if we had this current defense paired with the offense of the past two seasons? Unreal.”
“However, if I was to go with one player, my MVP would have to be a player from the offense. Emmanuel Sanders is the one name that has consistently stood out to me for making amazing plays, bringing everything he has, and making a difference to the team and the outcome of the game every single game.”
