Week 3: at Detroit Lions
The Broncos got a few days to rest before their next game against the Detroit Lions. The Broncos have struggled a bit against the Lions in the past. But they would buck that trend this season with a significant win.
For this game, I have asked Ian Henson from Mile High Report to break this game down.
Favorite Moment:
“With a 7-6 lead and nine seconds left in the 2nd quarter on a 4th and 1, Manning would avoid two sacks to connect with Demaryius Thomas from the Lions 45-yard line, hitting him as Thomas jumped up and over Detroit cornerback Darius Slay.”
“It may have been the best receiver play Thomas had all season. Emmanuel Sanders would match the catch, not the touchdown in the 4th quarter with 3:25 left all en route to a 24-12 Denver victory. It would mark the second time in a row the Broncos would make the Super Bowl after starting 3-0.
Ian took a different approach to the article. Instead of taking an MVP of the game, he mentioned two moments in the game that made the difference in the game. Both Thomas and Sanders really stepped up with big catches in this game.
