In another season opening battle between these two teams, the Broncos would bring a little Mile High Magic to Paul Brown Stadium. This game would also mark the first game in the short lived Josh McDaniels era.

The game was a huge defensive battle. It also marked quite an interesting game as all the scores happened in the final minute of the quarter. The Broncos took a 3-0 lead into half time with a Matt Prater 48 yard field goal.

Prater would kick another field goal with under 15 seconds to go in the third quarter to give the Broncos a 6-0 lead into the final frame.

Unfortunately, the Broncos lost the lead when Bengals running back Cedric Benson ran it into the end zone from one yard out with 38 seconds to go. The touchdown gave the Bengals a 7-6 lead.

However, the Broncos would get the ball back and bring forth some Mile High Magic.

The touchdown gave the Broncos the lead for good as Palmer’s hail mary attempt failed and the Broncos won the game 12-7.

It was quite a huge way to open up the first game without Mike Shannahan. It would lead a 6-0 start to the season.
