On a cold Sunday Night in Denver, the Broncos and Steelers would face square off. This season was Jay Cutler’s first full season as a starting quarterback for the Broncos after replacing Jake Plummer late in the 2006 season.
The game saw the Broncos jumping out to a hot start, outscoring the team from Pittsburgh 21-7 in the first 30 minutes of game action. But the Steelers were not going away without a fight.
After the two teams exchanged touchdowns in the third quarter, Big Ben got the offense going by scoring two touchdowns. One to Matt Spaeth and the other to Heath Miller. The Miller touchdown came with just 70 seconds left in regulation.
However, Cutler and the Broncos offense drove down the field and left the game on the foot of Jason Elam. He went out to attempt a 49 yard field goal. He would succeed in that as time expired, marking yet another game winning kick by the Broncos kicker.
The Broncos went on to win the game by the score of 31-28.
