Key Matchups

Broncos Secondary vs. Steelers Wide Receivers

Out of all the games this season, this will be the one where Aqib Talib, Chris Harris Jr., Bradley Roby, and the rest of the secondary will get tested. The Steelers carry a lot of weapons in the passing game, including one of the best wide receivers in the game, Antonio Brown.

Brown has 100 receptions on the year for nearly 1400 yards and seven touchdowns. The biggest key of this game is slowing this man down. But even if the Broncos can, they still have Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton to account for as well.

Talib can bring the physicality while Harris Jr. can be that shutdown corner to any receiver that he covers. Roby figured to cover the man in the slot, which could most likely be Wheaton.

A tall task lies ahead for the Broncos secondary, but we will get to see how solid this unit can be when going up against a formidable offense.

Brock Osweiler vs. Steelers Secondary

The biggest key of this game is going to be how Osweiler responds following a loss. This is a huge step for him in his young career. Does he bounce back and have a solid performance or does the worst happen and his confidence gets shot?

This could be a good chance for Osweiler to bounce back as he faces a Steelers secondary in the complete opposite spectrum then the Broncos secondary. The Steelers currently have the second-worse pass defense in the league.

While they have made some solid plays, they simply allow too many yards to opposing quarterbacks. They allow on average of 279 yards a game. The biggest question is if Osweiler will be able to take advantage of it.

With the Steelers in the top ten in rushing defense and the running backs beaten up, the Broncos might have to rely on Osweiler this time around. I hope that he can bounce back in a huge way.
