Sunday the Denver Broncos, currently situated as the #2 seed in the AFC playoff race with four weeks to go, have a tough match-up against their bitter rivals, the Oakland Raiders but a win against their long-time adversaries will keep them no worse than #2 for one more week.

This is because the Philadelphia Eagles did the Broncos a tremendous solid last Sunday by upsetting the New England Patriots and if Cincinnati downs Pittsburgh at Paul Brown Stadium this afternoon and the Broncos win, New England can not advance past #3 for the time being. This means until further notice the defending Super Bowl champions are relegated to playing Wild Card weekend, a testament to how strong the Broncos and Bengals have been this season.

The Broncos will be wearing their all-blue uniforms for the game today. It marks the second time this season that the team has gone with blue jerseys this season, with the first time back in November against the Packers.

In any event, the Broncos’ methodology in last week’s 17-3 win over San Diego should likely be continued as they were +41 in rushing yards against the Chargers and +3 in sacks. Constant pressure on Raiders signal-caller Derek Carr and running the ball effectively (the word on the street is third option Juwan Thompson will get more reps against the Raiders Sunday) should serve the Broncos well.

Thompson has averaged 5.02 yards every time he touches the ball in his brief Broncos career so for someone who doesn’t get many reps, that is exemplary. If any Raiders fans happen upon this thread, remember to treat them kindly, this is the Predominantly Orange way. Have fun and GO BRONCOS!!!
