After a defensive showing in San Diego, the Denver Broncos come back to Mile High as they take on the Oakland Raiders for the second time this season.
In the first game in Oakland, a Chris Harris Jr. interception of Derek Carr returned 75 yards for a touchdown was the only time the Broncos got into the end zone, but it proved to be enough as the Broncos would go on to win by the score of 16-10.
This was back in Week 5 and now the Raiders will be looking to extract some revenge. The Broncos have gone through quite a bit of change since that meeting. The biggest one is at quarterback. For the Raiders, they will face off against Brock Osweiler instead of the future Hall of Famer.
For the Raiders, a solid start to the season has turned to a complete 180 as they have lost four of the past five games. Perhaps the biggest loss was giving up a 20-14 lead in the fourth quarter as they allowed 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter against the Chiefs last weekend.
The Broncos will be looking to clinch at least a playoff spot when all is said and done in this game. They can clinch a spot with a win plus either a Jets or Steelers loss. They can also wrap up their fifth straight AFC West title with a win and a Chiefs loss.
The Raiders are fighting to stay alive in the playoff hunt. Perhaps the only way they will be able to get in is to win out and get quite a bit of help. Winning out would give the Raiders a 9-7 record.
Despite the Broncos getting banged up, it is important to them to keep ahead. This could serve as a trap game. With big matchups with the Steelers and Bengals looming, it is key that the Broncos do not take this game lightly. However, I am certain that Gary Kubiak will keep them focused.
Another thing to keep an eye on is the uniforms. The Broncos will be wearing all blue for their game against the Raiders on Sunday.
Now that I got that tidbit out of the way, let us dive right into the Broncos vs. Raiders matchup.
