This game would mark the beginning of what would be what would lead the Broncos to where they are today, in a sense. It would mark the first game in which Brock Osweiler would get his first meaningful snap as an NFL quarterback in his career. Manning would return to the game, but dealt with quad and a bug for the majority of the game.
This game would also be known as Connor Barth converting five field goals in the game. It was the power of his leg that kept the Chargers out of the game for the majority of the game.
The only touchdown that the Broncos would score in the game was shortly after the third quarter began. Coming back from his sickness and a quad injury, Peyton Manning would connect with Demaryius Thomas for a 28 yard pass.
Another interesting thing to keep in mind for this game was how bad the Broncos red zone offense was. Barth converted on two field goals of 19 yards. For some reason, the Broncos could not punch it into the end zone.
However, with the 22-10 win, the Broncos clinched their fourth straight AFC West championship. C.J. Anderson would continue his second half surge with 85 yards rushing in the game. And the Broncos defense forced two turnovers against the Chargers.
