The Broncos and Chargers would square off in what would be a long day for the Chargers offense. The Broncos defense would force six turnovers on the day in lieu of a 17-0 victory at San Diego Stadium.
The Broncos two touchdown’s came by virtue of a long play on both offense and defense. Rick Upchurch caught a pass from Steve Ramsay and took it 59 yards for the first score of the game. The other touchdown came from a 46 yard pick six by Tom Jackson himself.
Chargers quarterback Clint Longley would throw three interceptions in the game and only had one completion for ten yards. Dan Fouts did not fair any better as he threw for 120 yards and two interceptions.
This game was also known for the limited amount of yards for both teams. The Broncos only acquired 255 total yards in the game and the Chargers only had 128 yards. The six turnovers would help the Broncos out.
