The Denver Broncos and New England Patriots would meet up in the AFC Divisional Playoff in 2006. It would mark the first time that the Broncos got to the divisional round since their last Super Bowl appearance in 1999. It would also mark as the first playoff win since John Elway retired back in 1999.
The Broncos jumped out to a 10-6 lead when Mike Anderson would score the first touchdown of the game on a one yard run and then Jason Elam added a 50 yard field goal to make the score 10-3 going into the half.
The biggest play to come about in this game was came in the third quarter. With the Patriots driving down the field, the Patriots were looking to take the lead. However, when Brady was pressured, he threw a pass that was intercepted by Champ Bailey intended for Troy Brown.
He would return the interception 100 yards, stopped just short of the goal line. The interception would set the pace for the game, as Mike Anderson would score from one yard out on the very next play.
It would make the score 17-6 and the Broncos would not hold back as they would go on to win the game by the score of 27-13.
