#3- September 9th, 1960
The Denver Broncos’ first ever game as a franchise came against the New England Patriots. At the time they were known as the Boston Patriots. It would mark the first win for the Denver Broncos franchise.
The Broncos would not score their first points until the second quarter of the game, when Frank Tripucka would connect with Al Carmichael on a 59 yard touchdown to give the Broncos a 7-3 lead.
The Broncos would add on to their lead when they added a 76 yard punt return in the third quarter to make it a 13-7 lead. It would be the last points the Broncos would add for the entire game as the defense would hold on the entire game bu allowing only seven points.
The Broncos would go on to win the game by a score of 13-10 in the first ever AFL game in league history.
