Brock Osweiler did a stellar job in his first NFL start against the Chicago Bears. In fact, it appears as if he has done enough to get another job. Reports indicate that is the case.

According to Chris Mortensen, Brock Osweiler will start his second straight game on Sunday Night against the New England Patriots. So, the Manning vs. Brady bowl is going to be replaced by Brady vs. Osweiler. Gary Kubiak confirmed it in the meet with the media.

When I saw Osweiler’s performance for the Broncos, I said that he deserves another start. And I agree with this for two reasons. First, Manning gets the chance to heal up one more week. He has the shoulder and foot injury to deal with, so it will be key to get him healed up for the long run.

Second, Osweiler gets to show what he can do against a tough Patriots team. As of Monday afternoon, the Patriots are the only undefeated team in the AFC and one of two in the NFL. They square off against their AFC East rival Buffalo Bills on Monday night.

I expect a lot more of the same from the Bears game. It showed that the running game improved quite a bit with Osweiler under center. But this will be a tough test for his second start. The Patriots are playing really well right now.

The good news is that it is in Denver, so the home crowd will be behind them. I expect this game to be close and to come down to the wire. But more on the predictions and preview later on this week. Osweiler will be tested by the Patriots defense, but I honestly believe that he can get the job done.

Alright Broncos Country, it is time to Brock ‘N’ Roll again this week! Go Broncos!
