The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs will be taking part in another battle of their historic rivalry on Sunday in Denver. This is the second and final meeting of the 2015 regular season. If the Broncos win, the all time series will be tied at 56 a piece.
During Kansas City week in September, I covered the best games ever played at Arrowhead Stadium and now we are covering the games played in Denver. Some of the games were quite entertaining, especially within the last 10 to 15 years at Mile High.
With a chance to get an edge in the AFC West on the line, look for both teams to fight hard on Sunday afternoon.
Without any more delay, let us take a look at five of the best games played at Mile High.
#5- September 23rd, 1984
When it comes to these all-time games, I try to stick to games that were close at hand. However, there is nothing sweeter than shutting out a division opponent at home. That is exactly what the Broncos did to the Chiefs back in 1984.
The Broncos took full advantage of their 210 rushing yards during the game that included a huge one by Sammy Winder (31 carries 139 yards 1 TD) to give the Broncos their own shutout win over the Chiefs. The Chiefs shut out the Broncos in 1970, so let us say they repaid the favor.
One of the biggest plays of the game was when Mike Harden intercepted a Todd Blackledge pass and returned it 45 yards for the pick six to give the game its final score of the day. The Broncos would go on to win the game 21-0.
