Key Matchups
Broncos offensive line vs. Justin Houston
The most important part of this game is to keep Manning upright. This will especially hold true for his blind side. Ty Sambrailo started the last time these two teams played. And there were times that he was beat.
Justin Houston has the ability to line up anywhere on the defense, but his natural position is lining up near the left tackle. This means that Ryan Harris will be the starter to keep him off of Manning with Tyler Polumbus backing him up.
If the Broncos are going to have any success on Sunday, the Broncos will have to keep an eye on Houston. Harris was beaten quite a bit in the last meeting. Hopefully things will change.
Brandon McManus vs. Cairo Santos
If this does become a defensive battle, then the kickers might be relied upon more than normal. And the two kickers I am about to mention are perhaps the best in the NFL right now. Brandon McManus has only missed one field goal all season and Cairo Santos has missed four, but has shown some success.
The thing here is that both of these players can be relied upon in clutch situations. Both kickers are nearing the prime of their careers. And the Mile High air will make this game kicker heaven.
They both should at least get one field goal in the game, but if it comes down to the wire either one of these players are a solid option.
