With the Indianapolis Colts game behind them, the Denver Broncos will be looking to get on track on Sunday afternoon as they take their 7-1 record back to Sports Authority Field when they take on their divisional rivals for the second time this season, the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs enter the game with a record of 3-5. They are entering the game on a two game winning streak and their bye. Andy Reid has a solid record after the bye week, but something tells me things will be different this time around.
More on that later, but this will be the second and last time these two teams will square off, pending any playoff matchup this season. It is quite odd to see these division rivals finish their regular season meetings before December.
Last time these two teams squared off, the Broncos scored 14 points in a nine second span to steal a win at Arrowhead Stadium by the score of 31-24. After Peyton Manning connected with Emmanuel Sanders to tie the game, Brandon Marshall forced a fumble on Jamaal Charles and Bradley Roby picked it up and ran it back to the end zone.
The loss sent the Chiefs towards a five game losing streak. They were able to break the streak after back-to-back wins against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions to end their first half of the season.
For the Broncos, things were going really well for them despite the sluggish start on offense. The defense was helping them win games and they were on their course. However, the defense cost them against the Colts due to bad penalties, poor third down stops, and a boneheaded play by Aqib Talib.
Let us take a closer look at the game information for this week’s matchup.
