The Denver Broncos have already gone one game without Demarcus Ware this season due to a back injury. However, it appears that they will be without him for a set period of time.

According to multiple reports, Broncos linebacker Demarcus Ware is set to “miss time” due to aggravating his back. The timetable for his injury has yet to be officially determined, but it ranges anywhere from day-to-day to 2-4 weeks according to the reports. Hopefully it is not any longer than a game or two.

At least the Broncos have some depth at the edge rusher position. If Ware is expected to miss anytime for the Broncos, Shaquil Barrett will most likely take his place. However, the injury also hampers the edge rushing position with Shane Ray still out with his MCL sprain.

If there is any silver lining to any of this, it is the fact that the injuries are happening now rather than later. However, you never want to lose one of your star players to injury regardless.

With this being the second time he has injured his back, I believe that the Broncos should ease up and not rush him once he gets back to full strength. But that is just my opinion.

With Ware out for a bit, I am excited to see what Barrett can do again. He had such a great game against the Cleveland Browns and I look for him to excel against the Chiefs and perhaps the game against the Chicago Bears.

Hopefully we will see Ray back at practice this week. I believe if he can get something going in practice this week, it could put less pressure on Miller, Barrett, and McCray. Although I would not bank on that unless there is some significant improvement.

We hope that Ware gets better soon. Do not rush the recovery time. The Broncos will need you strong and sturdy for the road ahead. Go Broncos!
