In what turned out to be a defensive battle, the Broncos and Colts faced off at Mile High Stadium. There was not a whole lot of scoring involved, but it did instrument how strong of a defense the Broncos had.

The Colts opened up the scoring with a 55 yard field goal by Dean Biasucci that gave them a 3-0 lead. However, that would be the only lead they would have the entire game. In the second quarter, Broncos running back Bobby Humphrey scored a touchdown from two yards out to give the Broncos a 7-3 lead at the half.

The Broncos would end the scoring in the fourth quarter when Sammy Widner scored his rushing touchdown from one yard out to put the nail in the coffin for the Colts as the Broncos went on to win the game 14-3.

A significant reason for the victory was the Broncos limited the Colts to 128 total yards and dominated the time of possession with a little less than 38 minutes compared to 22 for the Colts.
