Key Matchups
Andrew Luck vs. Broncos Secondary
If you thought Manning’s interceptions were bad, you should take a look at Andrew Luck’s. With his numbers, the Broncos secondary could feast on his mistakes this Sunday.
Luck currently took the lead from Manning in the interception category as he sits with 12 interceptions on the season. He threw three of them Monday night against the Carolina Panthers, one of which lead to the game winning field goal for the Panthers.
With Luck becoming a turnover machine lately, the Broncos secondary should have a field day if the front seven can force him into throwing the ball in the wrong place.
Who knows, I could even see a linebacker getting a hand on one of Luck’s passes. Either way, this would be an interesting thing to keep an eye on.
C.J. Anderson/Ronnie Hillman vs. Colts Front Seven
Anderson and Hillman had their coming out parties on Sunday against the Packers. The running game accumulated 160 yards rushing on the ground. Anderson was responsible for 101 of those yards and Hillman added two rushing touchdowns.
I look for the Broncos running game to get it going once again against a Colts defense that is 28th in the league in rushing yards allowed. Bottom five in the running game is not going to win you football games.
I will not be surprised if the running game continues the path it is on, especially with the possibility of three tight end sets that could debut this weekend.
