Well, this will probably be the Maytag man game thread on Predominantly Orange. I have to teach Sunday School and go to other meetings during this game so I won’t have my commentary. Nevertheless, if anyone stumbles upon this, I’d be grateful and unless it goes past 2:00 pm MDT this afternoon (not necessarily likely, at least with more than 5 minutes or so left) feel free to use it.

The Denver Broncos are only giving up 15.2 points per game and the Cleveland Browns give up more than 28 points and 400 yards per game defensively. With that said, the stats say the Broncos should win this one by at least 13 points.

Nevertheless, the National Weather Service tells us that gusts of up to 20-30 miles per hour off of Lake Erie (I’ve been to FirstEnergy Stadium and it’s literally no more than 50 feet from the shores of Lake Erie) may affect the game and temperatures will not exceed 50 degrees.

Thus, you could say this is the Broncos’ first “cold weather” game of the year but please remember that I am a person who has been in Tucson and El Paso extensively and many haven’t so my idea of “hot and cold” is different than that of many fans and journalists.

The Broncos will likely improve to 6-0 if they play wisely and force turnovers while not committing turnovers themselves. That, of course, is easier in theory than practice, but the Broncos’ turnover ratio is +6 on the season which ties them with the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals for second in that vital statistic in the NFL.

Cleveland signal-caller Josh McCown has been prolific in the passing game the past couple of weeks but the Broncos’ defense is stronger than that of the San Diego Chargers and the injury-ravaged Baltimore Ravens and the wind gusts will affect the Browns’ offense as much as they would the Broncos.

In any event, this thread is yours so use it as you see fit and be nice to any Browns fans you may happen upon.
