Key Matchups

C.J. Anderson/Ronnie Hillman vs. Browns defense

If there is any possible chance of the Broncos running game to produce, this could be that game. The Browns defense ranks second to last in run defense. On paper, it appears to be the best matchup the run game has seen yet.

But, in my opinion, the two running backs are going to need to prove that they can find the open holes and exploit them. One particular situation was during last week’s game. Anderson had a good hole to run for a touchdown, but got tripped up by the Raiders defense.

Now the Broncos running attack will get another shot to take that first step towards being a better group than they have in the past. Hopefully this is the game that they improve. Otherwise, it will be a long season.

Broncos secondary vs. Josh McCown

The Denver Broncos “No Fly Zone” has been quite impressive. The unit is responsible for three defensive touchdowns (2 INT’s, 1 Fumble Recovery) and will look to continue to improve.

Josh McCown has his ups and downs this season, but he made a turn for the better with his performance against the Ravens. He threw for 457 yards and two touchdowns in the game. In fact, since his return from his concussion injury, he has thrown for at least 300 yards.

This next game for him will be his toughest test yet. With his weapons in the passing game covered by Aqib Talib, Chris Harris Jr., and Bradley Roby at the corners and Darian Stewart and T.J. Ward hunting a pass down, it will not be easy.
