The Denver Broncos entered the bout with the Oakland Raiders as an eight point favorite on the road. However, the game ended up being somewhat of a defensive battle.

The Broncos and Raiders would exchange touchdowns in the first quarter on a LaMont Jordan touchdown run and a Javon Walker pass from Jake Plummer. In the second quarter, all the scoring was off the legs of Sebastian Janikowski on 20 and 55 yards out to give the Raiders a 13-7 lead at the half.

Both teams were defensive in the third quarter, with no scoring. However, early in the fourth quarter, the Broncos would take the lead for good when Jake Plummer connected with Kyle Johnson on a one yard touchdown pass. Jason Elam would put the game away for good with a two minute drill field goal.

Both teams would change up shortly after this game. Jake Plummer would get benched later on in the year for Jay Culter and the Raiders ended up with the number one overall pick, in which they drafted JaMarcus Russell.
