The Denver Broncos will be without their last two second round draft picks for the AFC West showdown with the Oakland Raiders.

Cody Latimer and Ty Sambrailo, the Broncos second round draft picks from 2014 and ’15 respectfully, will be held out of the game on Sunday, according to Gary Kubiak. He made the notes in a media session on Friday.

The news of Sambrailo is not surprising since he has not practiced all week and has been nursing a sore shoulder since the injury in Week 3 against Detroit. For Latimer, it is a shame because fans were hoping to see him in action.

Other players popping up on the injury list are Evan Mathis and Bennie Fowler. Both players are questionable for the game. Mathis and Fowler are both dealing with a hamstring injury, but I would not be surprised if both end up suiting up.

With these injuries, look for a bit of contribution from the back up players. I would expect to see a bit of Max Garcia and Tyler Polumbus playing a few snaps to give Mathis and Ryan Harris some rest. Ryan Harris has been dealing with a knee injury but should suit up.

Also, one thing to keep in mind before Sunday’s game, the Broncos have until Saturday to make a roster move in response to Derek Wolfe’s suspension ending. The place where it would be likely that a move would be made is either a player is placed on injured reserve or a player who has been a gameday inactive for the past four games could see the boot.

For what it is worth, the injuries happening now could be a silver lining since they are happening this early in the season. Best to have the majority of the team in good health later rather than now. The Broncos will kick off against the Raiders at 2:25 PM mountain time. Go Broncos!
