I want to first thank everyone for making the first fanzone article such a huge success by liking it and sharing it across the social media world. It means a lot to me that you enjoyed it.
Now we are on a new week. Let’s continue talking about the Denver Broncos. They got a huge gut check win last week at home against the Minnesota Vikings. Now they travel to Oakland for a key AFC West showdown with the Raiders.
I figured for such a huge rivalry game, I should chat with someone who bleeds orange and blue. I believe that person is whom we will be talking with today.
For this new edition of Broncos Fanzone, I have decided to interview Captain Bronco. For those who may not know, he runs a weekly podcast called the Captain Bronco Postgame Boozecast. The podcast is fan driven in which Captain Bronco talks about the Broncos.
It features his co-host James Hernandez from the 5280 Shirt Shop as well as a special guest on the show. The guests for the show are often individuals from various Broncos media or fans of the Broncos.
Captain Bronco is a good friend of mine and he and I often talk quite a bit about the Broncos. So, I decided to sit down with him and talk about how the Broncos have done through the quarter mark of the season and this upcoming game against the Oakland Raiders.
I started out the interview by asking him what the biggest reason behind the great start for the Broncos. I’m sure everyone can agree with what he has to say about that.
“There is only one answer to this and if anyone tells you different, they are lying to you. No question that the defense is the reason behind the strong start. Three-quarters of their wins this season have come at the hands of the defense.
Not only are they making plays, but they are also helping out on scoring plays as well. All I have to say is that Orange Crush is back baby!”

I will agree with you until the end Captain Bronco. This defense has by far been phenomenal. And with Derek Wolfe coming back from a four game suspension, it is only going to get better as the season rolls along.
With the season a quarter of the way competed, I decided to ask Captain Bronco on who his MVP for the Broncos have been so far.
“Let us keep with the defense. While he did get picked on more last week against the Vikings, I would say Chris Harris Jr. He is the replacement for Champ Bailey that we needed at corner back and the dude is unstoppable.”
Looking at Chris Harris Jr.’s stats, he has played like an elite corner back, building off of his 2014 campaign. While he went unnoticed in the eyes of just about everyone not a Broncos fan, he has “quietly” put up amazing numbers.
To say that he is the replacement for Champ Bailey that the Broncos have needed would be a solid answer. In fact, Chris Harris Jr. reminds me of Champ Bailey from his prime years with the Denver Broncos. And that in return has me very excited for what Harris Jr. has to offer.
With the Broncos playing a huge rivalry game against the Raiders, I decided to talk to Captain Bronco and get his take on what the biggest difference will be in the game.
“I believe with all of my heart that this will be the blow out the Broncos have been waiting for all season. There will be no two minute win this week.
The Raiders are still rebuilding. While they have had a decent start, they have yet to go up against a defense like the Broncos. I also believe that they offensive line will come together, even with the absence of Sambrailo Sombrero. Broncos take the win easily.”
I have to agree with Captain Bronco. Especially last week, the offensive line looked solid and have appeared to come along. Like many fans have said before, once they get it going, the offense is going to be on fire.
For the X-Factor portion of the Broncos Fanzone, Captain Bronco has decided to go to the defensive side of the football on who will provide the difference for the Broncos.
“Derek Wolfe. He is back. With a defense as powerful as it already is,a s well as his belief that he truly is a “caged animal,” offenses need to look out. This new Orange Crush defense could be making some history this season.”

Broncos fans are very excited with the return of Derek Wolfe. He has been able to stay fit during his absence and it will be interesting to see if he brings the animal within during the contest against the Oakland Raiders.
Speaking of the Raiders, I have asked Captain Bronco on what his prediction for the game will be. While the Broncos have only been able to do this twice in the entire series, he believes this week will be the third time.
“The Oakland Raiders get blanked this week and MY Broncos go into Week 6 on a Mile High. Final score will be 28-0.”
Great pick Captain Bronco. And I thank you for taking the time out to join me at Predominantly Orange for this interview. Go Broncos!
