Broncos-Lions Gamethread

The Denver Broncos and the Detroit Lions meet for only the 12th time in NFL history with the Broncos holding a 6-5 advantage in a series dating back to 1971. Anyway, oddly enough, the Lions have outscored the Broncos 89-17 in the last two meetings so Denver if, for nothing else, should be motivated to rectify this situation.

Anyway, the latest news on Detroit Lions signal-caller Matthew Stafford is that he is “probable” for tonight’s game despite a late hit he incurred from Minnesota Vikings outside linebacker Anthony Barr in last week’s 26-16 loss that injured his ribs terribly enough that he was barely able to speak. Anyway, he’s a gamer and so should the Broncos be if they want to avoid the same fate that has besought them the last two times they’ve played the Lions.

As for the game thread, the same rules apply from last week. Should any Lions fans or anyone else happen upon us, treat them the way you’d like to be treated, thus helping us maintain the peaceful magnificence of this Web site.

We had about 103 posts during the Chiefs game thread and as the Broncos (hopefully) improve on the field, perhaps our numbers can as well. That’s what I’m shooting for.

I do expect the Broncos to improve to 3-0 this evening but if not, please remember to treat others peaceably should the outcome not go our way. We represent blog leader Sayre Bedinger and we don’t want to do anything that would disappoint him as he does a magnificent job in giving us this site. Well, may the best team win.
