#2- Jake Plummer’s Two TD’s Control the Lions, September 28th, 2003
In Jake Plummer’s second home game as the Denver Broncos’ quarterback, the team faced off against the Detroit Lions. The game was closely contested as both teams kept one another from creating any separation on the scoreboard.
Jake Plummer had two touchdown passes. One was a beautiful pass that Ashley Lelie went up and grabbed from the air that opened the scoring for the Broncos. The other was a one yard touchdown to Shannon Sharpe that gave the Broncos the lead.
A key moment in the game came when Jason Hanson missed an extra point following a touchdown pass from Joey Harrington. The extra point would have tied the game at 17 a piece.
Jason Elam would tack on a field goal in the fourth quarter as the Broncos went on to defeat the Lions 20-16.
