#3- Broncos display strong second half, October 11th, 1981

During a cool October afternoon in Denver, the Broncos and Lions faced off. It was quite the battle as it appeared both teams would not give up.

The Denver Broncos opened up the game on a 10-0 run, thanks to a Craig Morton 95 yard touchdown to Steve Watson and a 24 yard field goal by Fred Steinfort. However, Detroit would answer with a 48 yard touchdown run by Billy Sims.

The second half saw Detroit take over as they outscored the Broncos 14-7 to take a 21-17 lead at the half. The Broncos would only be able to muster a field goal in the third quarter. They trailed 21-20 going into the final quarter.

However, Craig Morton would drive the team down the field and find Rick Parros for a 15 yard touchdown that put the Broncos ahead 27-21 and ultimately decided the game.

The defense could be given a gold star for the game as they shut out Detroit in the second half, not allowing a single point to go on the scoreboard.
