Prediction

The last two times that these teams met, the Broncos have been beaten badly. A 45-10 blowout in Denver and a 44-7 blowout last time these two teams faced in Detroit. A total score of 89-17 is not pretty.

However, things have changed between the two teams since the 2011 season. Peyton Manning is at the helm and it appears as if the Detroit Lions are getting closer to the pieces they need for a serious run.

What I believe this game will come down to is which offense can perform at an elite level. Both of them appear to be in a bit of a pickle early on in the season. We did see flashes of brilliance from Denver last Thursday and Detroit has their bright spots as well.

Health could also play an issue as it appears Denver is close to full strength while Detroit is a bit banged up here and there.

One of my bold predictions is that this will be one of the games in which Peyton Manning will throw for over 300 yards. And Emmanuel Sanders will record over 100 yards for the first time this season.

As for who wins the game, the Broncos defense is going to make enough big plays to decide it. It may not be a decisive victory, but the Broncos will move to 3-0 on the year.
