#4- Eric Decker, Have a Day
One year after the Broncos defeated the Chiefs, the team traveled to Arrowhead Stadium. The team had suffered a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots one week ago as they let a 24-0 halftime lead slip away and ultimately lost in overtime.
Going into Kansas City, the team was without Derek Wolfe, who had to go the hospital as he suffered a stroke that would ultimately sideline him for the rest of the season. The game did not start out well for the Denver Broncos.
The Broncos fell early by scores of 7-0 and 21-7 before the offense finally got things clicking. Knowshon Moreno’s touchdown reception made it 21-14 Chiefs at the half.
Then, the Eric Decker show began.
For 16 minutes of the second half, Eric Decker was on fire. The player caught three touchdown passes from Peyton Manning in a span of 15:44 to give the Broncos a 35-21 lead that the Broncos would not let up. The win gave the Broncos their tenth win of the 2013 season.
Eric Decker finished the game with eight receptions for 174 yards and four touchdowns. His average per reception was almost 22 yards. It was perhaps Eric’s best game as a Bronco.
